Aqua Lounge Announces ‘God…Love…Romance’
Premier Shockoe Bottom lounge creates event for Christian couples and singles
Richmond, Va. – April 23, 2012 -- Christian couples and singles are invited to God…Love…Romance (GLR) at Aqua Lounge located at 1708 E. Main Street on May 20, 2012 from 6 to 11 p.m. Admission is five dollars for singles and eight dollars for couples. Valet parking is available.
A night to inspire love, romance and relationships, GLR is created for Christians -- single or married -- to have a place to connect. “Just because they have turned to God does not mean they should forsake love and romance,” says Bryon McGainey, co-host of GLR and co-owner of Aqua Lounge.
Marcia Paige, co-host of GLR added, “This night is about rekindling the love couples once felt in their hearts, finding healing in broken marriages, singles meeting potential partners and celebrating what we all have in common, God.”
Fifty percent of first-time marriages in the church end in divorce. Creators of GLR are hoping to change that with creating a platform where attendees can have a great time without compromising Christian ideals.
This romantic night was inspired by gospel artist Fred Hammond who recently went against the grain with his latest project, trailblazing the gospel genre with love songs for Christian couples. “As Christians, we devote our time and skills to our churches and communities and strive daily to be more like Christ. Still sometimes, our natural needs aren’t addressed on…Sunday morning. We burn out doing things for Christ and neglect those we love unintentionally,” Hammond commented when asked about his latest album.
